If you’ve never flown ultra-low-cost carrier Avelo Airlines, listen up: First-time customers will get a $100 flight credit to use on future flights after booking their first round-trip ticket on the airline.
Flying to more than 30 destinations, Avelo services some of the country’s biggest airports, including Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI), Orlando International Airport (MCO) and Harry Reid International Airport (LAS).
However, since Avelo is a smaller airline, its routes aren’t as frequent as competitors. On the flip side, its size allows the airline to offer lower-than-average prices, including fares sometimes as low as $19.
Here’s what you need to know about this limited-time promo.
Deal basics
AVELOAIR.COM
Airlines: Avelo Airlines
Routes: Across the Avelo network
How to book: Directly through this link using the promo code “FLYAVELO”
Travel dates: Jan. 2 to April 20
Book by: 11:59 PST on Jan. 8
To secure a $100 flight credit, first-time Avelo passengers (age 18 and older) should book a round-trip flight within that booking window using the promo code. Travel must be completed by April 20. Within four weeks of qualifying travel, participants should see $100 of Avelo Travel Funds added to their linked Avelo account, which can be used for their next Avelo flight. Travelers should also receive an email confirming when Avelo Travel Funds have been added to their account.
Keep in mind that because Avelo’s business model is to keep costs low, it charges extra for just about everything, including seat selection, full-size carry-on items and checked baggage. The exact price of extras varies by flight and time of purchase, and it’s cheapest when you buy at booking.
Maximize your purchase
To book your Avelo flight, use a credit card that earns bonus points on airfare purchases, such as:
Chase Sapphire Preferred Card: 2 points per dollar spent on travel
American Express® Gold Card: 3 points per dollar spent on airfare when booked directly through the airline or American Express Travel
The Platinum Card® from American Express: 5 points per dollar spent on airfare when booked directly through the airline or American Express Travel (on up to $500,000 of these purchases per calendar year, then 1 point per dollar)
Citi Premier® Card (see rates and fees): 3 points per dollar spent on airfare
Chase Sapphire Reserve: 3 points per dollar spent on airfare
Bottom line
