When over 80% of recently polled Marriott Bonvoy members said they want to take a trip that included outdoor activities, Marriott listened. Now, the company is launching an all-new collection of outdoor-focused accommodations — and a new travel platform called Marriott Bonvoy Outdoors.

“For the first time, travelers ranging from outdoor enthusiasts to new explorers will have the opportunity to discover, book, and unlock exclusive in-stay benefits based not only on where they want to go, but what they love to do,” Marriott said in a statement announcing the new collection and platform.
“Travelers are telling us they want the freedom of nature paired with the trust, comfort, and rewards of Marriott Bonvoy, and that’s a gap we are uniquely positioned to fill right now,” Peggy Roe, chief customer officer and executive vice president at Marriott, told TPG.
At launch, Marriott Bonvoy Outdoors will consist of over 450 outdoor-focused hotels around the world, 50,000 homes and villas, and curated tours and activities. These properties and activities, Marriott said, will focus on the most popular outdoor activities:
- Skiing and snowboarding
- Hiking and glamping
- Biking
- Surfing
- Fishing
- Kayaking and canoeing
- Scuba diving and snorkeling
Available on the dedicated Marriott Bonvoy Outdoors website and the Marriott Bonvoy app, would-be adventurers can use the platform to search by their interests first, rather than destination, potentially unlocking new destinations to fish or hike that they might not have even heard about.
The new Outdoor Collection by Marriott Bonvoy is a “curated portfolio [offering] outdoor-focused, design-forward stays in remarkable landscapes, from cabins tucked into woodlands near National Parks to boutique hotels on cliffs’ edges,” according to the announcement. Hotels and resorts in the collection “will combine unparalleled access to nature alongside the essential needs that hotel guests expect such as comfortable beds, hot running water, and dedicated restrooms.”

Postcard Cabins and Trailborn Hotels, two nature-focused chains that recently joined Marriott Bonvoy, will serve as the collection’s inaugural brands. Postcard Cabins offers 29 locations around the U.S., with starting rates around $150 or 27,000 Marriott Bonvoy points per night. Trailborn Hotels, described as “boutique hotels in extraordinary outdoor destinations,” has properties stretching from the beaches of North Carolina to the Grand Canyon and beyond.
Down the line, Marriott touts future boutique hotels and cabins, alongside yurts, domes, ecolodges and “other unique escapes” to be added to the Outdoor Collection by Marriott Bonvoy.
Beyond hotel stays, the collection will partner with Outside Interactive in 2026 to offer special Marriott Bonvoy Moments focused on outdoor experiences, including photo shoots in Hawaii, kayaking in the Maldives and snorkeling in Belize. Additionally, Marriott Bonvoy members with Outside Interactive Outside+ accounts can link the two to receive bonus points and exclusive content.
Win Bonvoy points with the ‘Drop Pin Challenge’
For this exciting launch, Marriott Bonvoy has tapped “The Traitors” and “Dancing with the Stars” personality Dylan Efron to give away 10 million Marriott Bonvoy points. Efron and Marriott have hidden physical map pins, each worth 10,000 points, across 20 outdoor destinations around North America. Head to the contest landing page to find clues about where the pins are hiding in locations like Yellowstone National Park; Moab, Utah; Maui, Hawaii; and beyond.
“With the new Outdoor Collection by Marriott Bonvoy brand, our curated Marriott Bonvoy Moments, and even playful activations like the Drop Pin Challenge with Dylan Efron, we’re not just offering places to stay,” said Roe,. “We’re opening doors to experiences that inspire, connect, and stay with you long after the trip ends.” She added, “This is just the beginning for Marriott Bonvoy Outdoors, and the collection will continue to expand with new additions to be announced soon. Our ambition is to make the outdoors a long-lasting, inspiring chapter of the Marriott Bonvoy story.”
Bottom line
The Outdoor Collection by Marriott Bonvoy and Marriott Bonvoy Outdoors offers travelers looking to spend time in nature a one-stop platform to find vacation ideas around outdoor-focused themes, book stays and organize activities all within the Marriott Bonvoy ecosystem. And, for a limited time, you could even score some Marriott Bonvoy points by participating in the new program’s “Drop Pin Challenge.”
