Only a few U.S. cards carry “Visa Infinite” branding — including the Chase Sapphire Reserve® (see rates and fees), the all-new Atmos™ Rewards Summit Visa Infinite® Credit Card and the U.S. Bank Altitude Reserve Visa Infinite® Card (currently closed to new applicants).
The information for the U.S. Bank Altitude Reserve card has been collected independently by The Points Guy. The card details on this page have not been reviewed or provided by the card issuer.
We don’t blame you if you’re not sure what this designation entails. The good news is that it provides additional benefits to cardholders.
Let’s review the benefits available through Visa Infinite and how to use each benefit. Remember that issuers can tweak or exclude certain benefits — we’ll also explore what that means.
What is Visa Infinite?
Visa Infinite is a card designation from the Visa payment network. This designation gives cardholders certain perks and benefits, which the issuer can modify. As their most premium designation, Visa Infinite cards have higher annual fees, and the minimum credit limit for approved accounts is $10,000.
Travel and lifestyle benefits
Here’s a rundown of the travel and lifestyle perks Visa Infinite offers. Remember that your card may have some or all of these benefits, so make sure to check your guide to benefits.
Airline incidentals statement credit
Visa Infinite cardholders can enjoy rebates for certain expenses associated with their flight. Examples include checked luggage fees and inflight food purchases.
This benefit isn’t included on all Visa Infinite cards, so check your particular card’s terms and benefits. For example, the Sapphire Reserve offers up to $300 travel credit; airline incidental fees are included under eligible charges.
Booking.com benefit
When using a Visa Infinite card at Booking.com, cardholders can get up to 8% in travel credits for future bookings of car rentals, flights, hotels and more. To take advantage of this perk, you must create a Booking.com account.

Remember that booking hotels from online travel agencies has several cons, such as the inability to earn hotel points or take advantage of elite status benefits.

Car rental privileges
Cardholders get special discounts at car rental providers such as Avis, National and Hertz, while also being eligible for various VIP amenities. Cardholders receive the following car rental elite statuses:
- Avis: Avis Preferred Plus, along with a discount of up to 30% off and complimentary two-day weekend rentals
- Hertz: Fast track to Hertz Five Star elite status, 15% discount and a 2-hour return grace period
- National: Complimentary Emerald Club Executive elite status and up to a 25% on eligible car reservations
The Visa Infinite program offers primary car rental insurance (more on that later in the post), so using an eligible card could be a great choice when renting a car.

Hotel benefits
When you book a hotel stay at a Visa Infinite Luxury Hotel Collection property using a Visa Infinite card, you’ll enjoy perks such as an automatic room upgrade on arrival (when available), free Wi-Fi and complimentary continental breakfast.
Your Visa Infinite card will get you all the benefits available to Visa Signature cardholders, plus an extra amenity at over 200 locations.

Note that the extra amenity you receive will vary by location. If you’re looking for a particular one, verifying what amenity you’ll receive before booking is a good idea.
In addition, Visa Infinite also provides benefits at Relais & Chateaux properties with perks such as a room upgrade (based on availability), daily breakfast for all members of your group and a VIP welcome.
Your Visa Infinite card may also provide hotel statement credits from the issuer, which you can’t use when booking directly with Visa Infinite Hotels.
For example, the Sapphire Reserve gives cardholders an up to $500 credit (up to $250 biannually) for The Edit℠ on prepaid stays of at least two nights.
However, cards like the Atmos Summit don’t offer a travel or hotel credit, making Visa Infinite Hotels an appealing alternative.
GigSky
Visa Infinite cardholders receive a complimentary 3GB/15-day eSIM plan once every 365 days, plus 30% off all other plans (through Nov. 15, 2027).
This is a neat perk, as more and more phones are transitioning to eSIM, which allows frequent travelers to stay connected without worrying about purchasing a local SIM.

TPG credit cards writer Danyal Ahmed recently took advantage of this benefit as a Sapphire Reserve cardholder. The complimentary plan worked across multiple countries as he hopped from France to Switzerland, then to Turkey and Qatar.
Global Entry application fee credit
This Visa Infinite program reimburses you for the $100 application fee for Global Entry. While this program is worth signing up for to breeze through immigration, several other premium travel rewards cards also offer a Global Entry fee reimbursement, so this shouldn’t factor too heavily in your decision to get a Visa Infinite card.
Golf benefits
Avid golfers can enjoy the benefits of Troon Rewards®. Upon signing up, Visa Infinite cardholders receive platinum status with Troon Rewards along with 20% savings on golf fees and merchandise, and lessons at over 200 golf courses across the U.S. and the world.

In addition, Visa Infinite cardholders can access over 20 high-end, private Troon Privé golf clubs. You can also play at each club two times per year for $99 per player per round when using a Visa Infinite card to book, while also being able to bring up to three guests at the same rate.
Priority Pass lounge access
Having a credit card with airport lounge access can be a game changer. Priority Pass is the biggest airport lounge network with more than 1,700 locations worldwide. The exact lounge access privileges you’ll get vary depending on the card.

For example, the Sapphire Reserve comes with a full Priority Pass Select membership, which gives the cardholder and up to two guests unlimited lounge access.
On the other hand, the Altitude Reserve card comes with eight Priority Pass lounge visits per year. Each person who visits, whether they’re a guest or the primary cardholder, will use up one of these eight passes, so plan accordingly.
Meanwhile, Atmos Summit cardholders don’t receive a Priority Pass membership. Instead, they receive eight Alaska Lounge passes per year, split into two per quarter.

Visa Infinite Concierge
Like most premium card programs, the Visa Infinite program includes a dedicated concierge service that can assist with travel and dining arrangements, shopping, access to exclusive events and more. You can expect great service and assistance with almost whatever outing you plan. The service is available 24/7, 365 days a year, and can be used domestically or abroad.
Call (800) 587-2700 to access the concierge within the U.S., or (303) 214-5802 if you’re outside the U.S.
Travel and lifestyle protections
Beyond travel perks, Visa Infinite also provides travel protection and other services. Check your card’s guide to benefits to see which benefits your card offers.
Dovly Uplift
Your credit score is the most important factor when getting approved for a credit card or other financial product. Visa Infinite cardholders receive a free membership for Dovly Uplift, an AI-driven platform that provides credit monitoring, alerts, scores, tips and recommendations.
If you don’t have the time or knowledge to audit your credit report, this service is a great tool to take advantage of.
Extended warranty, purchase protection and return protection
When you purchase a product with a warranty of three years or less, you’ll get an extra year of coverage for up to $10,000 per claim and up to $50,000 per cardholder. This isn’t the only coverage option out there; for more options, take a look at our list of the best cards with extended warranty protection.

If an item is stolen or damaged within 90 days from the purchase date — and you purchased it with a Visa Infinite Card — you’ll be covered for up to $10,000 per claim (up to $50,000 per cardholder). With purchase protection coverage, you can either be reimbursed, have the item repaired or get a replacement.
In addition to purchase protection that covers you in the event of theft or damage, the Visa Infinite program offers return protection coverage of up to $300 per item and $1,000 per year when you’re unhappy with a product and the retailer won’t accept a return. To be eligible, you must pay for the purchase with your Visa Infinite card and file a claim within 90 days of the purchase date.
Other protections that may be included with your Visa Infinite card include cellphone protection, emergency evacuation coverage, hotel theft protection and price protection. Check the benefits of your specific Visa Infinite card to find out if it offers these protections.

Lost luggage reimbursement
Yet another travel protection that Visa Infinite cardholders enjoy is lost luggage reimbursement. If your checked or carry-on baggage is lost or stolen on an airline, the program reimburses you up to $3,000 (up to $2,000 for New York residents) per covered trip.

You’re eligible for this coverage when you pay for at least a portion of the travel with your Visa Infinite card or with the rewards associated with the card.
Having lost luggage protection is a great way to relieve stress during a trip. It’s frustrating when an airline loses your luggage, but you can at least get some compensation with the right protection.

Primary rental car insurance
Through Visa Infinite, you can get primary coverage for up to $75,000 due to damage (caused by collision or theft) to a rental car.
Visa Infinite cards aren’t the only ones to offer this coverage — the Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card (see rates and fees), a Visa Signature card, offers it as well, although the terms are different.
This is a great perk to have since you won’t need to file a claim with your own insurance company in the event of an accident or theft.
Trip cancellation, interruption and delay insurance
Visa Infinite cards offer trip cancellation and interruption insurance. This includes reimbursement of up to $2,000 per insured trip for nonrefundable expenses when you cancel a trip for a covered reason or when your trip is interrupted or delayed for a covered reason.

There’s a full list of “covered reasons,” but if you’re suffering from a serious illness or injury, you can expect this benefit to be offered.
In addition, Visa Infinite provides trip delay insurance. You’ll get coverage for expenses (up to $500 per day) when a purchased trip is delayed for an eligible reason for more than six hours or requires an overnight stay.
Bottom line
Like other credit card programs, Visa Infinite offers a nice range of benefits for premium rewards credit cards. Remember, the issuer has a major say in what perks are offered on its card.
If the card issuer’s benefits fit your travel needs, then Visa Infinite perks like airport lounge access, primary car rental insurance and a free or discounted eSIM add meaningful upside.
Otherwise, not all perks with Visa Infinite are unique, so lean in on the benefits that matter to you the most.
