You can now book the legendary Park Hyatt Tokyo with points

As we reported exclusively last week, the legendary Park Hyatt Tokyo is reopening this coming December after a major overhaul.

The hotel made famous in the movie “Lost in Translation” closed in May 2024, and its reopening has been eagerly anticipated.

We learned the hotel will reopen Dec. 9, and reservations opened Wednesday. In great news for World of Hyatt enthusiasts, points bookings are also available. This is sure to be one of the best redemptions in the World of Hyatt program, so you should book now if you’ve got your eye on this redemption as we don’t expect availability to stay this widespread for too long.

The Park Hyatt Tokyo is a Category 8 property in the World of Hyatt program.

Technically, this means award stays will be bookable starting at 35,000 points for standard rooms on off-peak nights, though right now we are mostly seeing 40,000 points for standard nights and 45,000 points for peak nights. Availability is tough to find in December, though more dates open up in January and February. There are a few dates in January starting at 35,000 World of Hyatt points per night.

Suites start at 61,000 points per night, and premium suites start at 80,000 points per night, though we’re not seeing much suite award availability at the moment.

With cash rates starting at more than $700 a night for a basic room and $1,000 for a deluxe room, and suites beginning at around $1,300, some of the points redemptions available for this iconic property are an incredible deal.
