From January to February, United has a limited number of discounted flights from Los Angeles to Honolulu. Otherwise, flights to Honolulu can cost as much as 80,000 miles for a one-way trip.

These flights are a part of United’s Saver Awards program, which offers a limited number of seats for various flights at heftily discounted prices.
When booking a flight to Daniel K. Inouye International Airport (HNL) from Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), the deal may vary, since the number of seats for under 10,0000 offered is limited. However, we found that January to February 2023 had the most available dates for under 10,000 miles.

If you have United Premier status or a United credit card connected to your MileagePlus account, then make sure to log into your MileagePlus account before searching.
These mileage deals only apply to United’s economy fares, which allow you to choose a seat for your flights and to bring one carry-on bag. There are also checked baggage fees of $35 for the first bag and $45 for the second.

The 9,400 miles only apply to one way — a round-trip flight from Los Angeles to Honolulu will come to 18,800 miles. TPG’s August 2022 valuations place United’s MileagePlus program at 1.21 cents per mile.

Bottom Line
MileagePlus members have access to a few good mileage fares right now.
This is a great deal because a one-way United trip to Honolulu on miles can cost anywhere between 20,000 miles and 80,000 miles. And even in the middle of winter, you can enjoy the much warmer temps and golden sand beaches of Honolulu.
But, book ASAP as at the time of publication, we found availability between Jan. 17, 2023, and Feb. 9, 2023, but that can change.
