The first Chase Sapphire Lounge is now open in Hong Kong

The first Chase Sapphire Lounge is officially open at the Hong Kong International Airport (HKG).

While this is the first of Chase’s airport lounges to open its doors, the bank has plans to open another eight lounges in the near future. Additionally, there are plans to eventually extend the operating hours at the Hong Kong lounge.

Here’s everything you need to know if you’re looking to visit the Chase Sapphire Lounge in Hong Kong.

Lounge details

The Chase Sapphire Lounge by The Club is now open in the Hong Kong airport, located in the West Hall of Terminal 1. It’s near gate 40 on the departures level — Level 7 — and covers 11,948 square feet. Passengers departing from the East Hall can access the lounge via a shuttle or a 10-15 minute walk.

The Sapphire Lounge in Hong Kong was not built from scratch but instead was a takeover from an existing The Club Lounge. Doors opened on Oct. 25, and current operating hours are from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. local time. There are plans to expand these operating hours in the future, but there are no concrete details available yet on this expansion.

The design of the Chase Sapphire Lounge in Hong Kong is unique to this location, “drawing inspiration from the host city through elements such as locally curated menus and art,” according to a Chase spokesperson. Lounge features include separate spaces for work and for relaxing, “fresh and seasonal dining options, signature cocktails, local beer and a curated wine list.”

As expected at airport lounges, there are outlets for charging your devices, complimentary high-speed Wi-Fi, multiple televisions and air conditioning. There are digital entertainment offerings such as newspapers and magazines.

You can use technology to access the lounge and order food and drinks. After you scan an eligible membership card to enter the lounge, you ca access digital menus, and ordering is done this way as well. The menu is a la carte and includes options for those with dietary and religious preferences, as well as alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks.

Who has access?

As this lounge is branded as Chase Sapphire Lounge by The Club, cardholders of the Chase Sapphire Reserve have complimentary access to this and other forthcoming Sapphire lounges. However, the lounge is also accessible to members of Lounge Key and Priority Pass. That means those with a Priority Pass membership — even if it’s obtained through a Capital One or American Express credit card — will have access to this lounge.

For Sapphire Reserve cardholders, you can access the lounge by showing your card upon entrance. Priority Pass members can gain entrance to the lounge by showing your physical or digital membership card.

Bottom line

The first Chase Sapphire Lounge by The Club opened its doors to travelers in Hong Kong International Airport on Oct. 25, and it’s accessible to those with the Chase Sapphire Reserve as well as Lounge Key and Priority Pass members.

This is an exciting addition for international travelers, though it’s just the first Chase Sapphire Lounge to open. Additional locations are slated for several U.S. airports — including New York (LaGuardia Airport), Boston, Las Vegas, Phoenix, Washington (Dulles International Airport) and San Diego — plus two yet-to-be-named outposts.
